The annual American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Annual Meeting and Expo will be held on Oct. 3-7, 2008 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA. The theme for this year's show is Green Infrastructure: Linking Landscapes and Communities.

ASLA Annual Meeting and Expo—General Information
The ASLA Annual Meeting and Expo combines the largest trade show in the landscape architect industry with an educational program that accounts for 18.5 professional development hours toward maintaining your state licensing. Current architects can keep up with the latest methods, practices, and technologies; and architectural students can learn significant elements of the trade in just one long weekend. More than 450 exhibitors create an impressive and comprehensive trade show that covers the entire gambit of landscape architecture.

Along with general sessions, roundtable discussions will include such topics as new technologies, potential client groups, and media outlets. Workshop sessions will cover hot topics such as green roof design, green wall design, notable female leaders in the industry, and strategies for preparing for licensing examination.

ASLA Meeting and Expo—Registration and Travel
Members of the ASLA, AIA, APA, and ULI will receive a discount on their registration. Non-member registration includes a one-year ASLA membership so many members simply use the show as their annual renewal date. Guest and single-day registration is also available. Most of the educational, professional, and tour programs must be registered for individually. This is another reason to register early; many of them will fill up before October.

The Cultural Landscape Foundation and the American Society of Landscape Architects
In 2003, these two organizations formed a partnership and this year silent auctions will once again be held to further TCLF's objective. Their goal is to document, collect, and preserve the unique perspectives of renowned landscape practitioners and make them available for future generations in a free, online archive. Art works including sketches, paintings, watercolors, photographs, and books by notable landscape architects and artists will be available for bidding.
